Ludhiana, April 1 (NationPress) AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday presented the Aam Aadmi Party's objective to eradicate drugs from Punjab.
Describing this as a vital initiative for the state's future, Kejriwal assured the audience that this mission is more than just an aim; it is a shared commitment that will rally every individual in Punjab to liberate the state from the grip of drugs.
While speaking to AAP volunteers during the party’s executive summit, Kejriwal stated, “You are the ones who toiled tirelessly to form AAP's government in Punjab. Today’s assembly holds great significance as we unite for a singular purpose -- to eliminate drugs from Punjab. I firmly believe that if every person here pledges to eradicate drugs from Punjab, then nothing will prevent us from reaching this objective.”
AAP leaders and volunteers, alongside Kejriwal, recited the oath, “I am a true son of Punjab's sacred land. I am a dedicated volunteer of the Aam Aadmi Party. Today, I pledge by the soil of Punjab. That I will never indulge in drug use myself. I will strive to keep my friends, family, and community away from drugs.”
Kejriwal noted that in the past month, extraordinary measures have been executed to tackle the drug crisis.
“What has transpired in the last month is unprecedented in 75 years,” he commented, emphasizing the scale of actions taken to address drug trafficking and its related networks.
Kejriwal further stated, “Thousands of drug traffickers have been apprehended in just one month. These are the same traffickers whose names instilled fear in the hearts of people. Today, they are being captured, and bulldozers are demolishing the properties of drug dealers.
“Substantial amounts of drugs and cash have been seized, including money that was transferred to Pakistan through hawala routes. Even the hawala facilitators are being detained.” In a stern warning to drug dealers, Kejriwal added, "If anyone dares to resist the police in an encounter, law enforcement will not hesitate to respond. The message is clear: either cease drug dealings or vacate Punjab."
