Patna, Oct 7 (NationPress) Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) leader Mukesh Sahani stated that key information regarding the Mahagathbandhan's seat allocation, the Chief Ministerial candidate, and the Deputy Chief Minister nominee will be revealed by Wednesday.
In an interview with IANS, Sahani remarked: "The moment I’ve been eagerly anticipating has finally arrived. The BJP has taken four of our MLAs, and now we are strategizing to overcome 40 of theirs. We are entirely ready. Discussions are in progress for 121 seats. By tomorrow, we will clarify how many seats we are contesting, as well as the identity of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister."
"Our role will be defined once we attain power. No external party can dictate our position. Regarding Tejashwi Yadav's aspiration for CM, he has put forth his claim. The ultimate declaration will be made from the Mahagathbandhan platform. Each party will take its own decisions: Tejashwi for RJD, we for VIP, and Congress from Delhi."
On rumors regarding his possible exit from Mahagathbandhan, Sahani labeled it as unfounded speculation.
"This is a misleading narrative being propagated. The BJP is attempting to hit multiple targets at once. They are conveying to Chirag Paswan, Upendra Kushwaha, and Jitan Ram Manjhi that if they fail to secure their seats, they’ll introduce Mukesh Sahani. I wish to convey to them—take your entire share. We will remain exactly where we are," Sahani told IANS.
The Bihar Assembly elections will occur in two phases on November 6 and 11, with results announced on November 14, as declared by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday.
During a press briefing, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, along with Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, referred to the Bihar elections as the "mother of all elections".
"We want to assure Bihar's voters that these elections will not only be exemplary and smooth, but also the most peaceful due to concentrated efforts to uphold law and order," he asserted.
The 2025 Assembly elections mark the first in the eastern state after a thorough revision of the electoral rolls under a Special Intensive Revision (SIR), resulting in a final voter list comprising 7.43 crore electors, including 14 lakh first-time voters.
CEC Gyanesh Kumar also provided insights and timelines regarding the SIR conducted after a 22-year hiatus, stating that the finalized electoral roll has been shared with all political parties.
