From Adversity to Achievement: How Krishna Ashish Shines in Self-Employment Thanks to PMEGP
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Bhagalpur, March 15 (NationPress) The Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) is a transformative initiative that aids individuals in establishing micro-enterprises, proving invaluable for countless people. Young entrepreneurs are utilizing the advantages of this significant Central Government initiative to reshape their futures.
One such inspiring figure is Krishna Ashish from Bihar, who has not only grown his business but has also created job opportunities for others.
Residing in Kazichak, Bhagalpur district, Krishna started his venture in 2017, specializing in crafting decorative items from fiber and flowers, establishing a unique presence in the market over the years.
However, the COVID-19 pandemic brought unforeseen challenges, leading to a personal accident and a significant financial downturn that nearly halted his business operations. Despite these setbacks, he persevered and resolved to rebuild his enterprise from the ground up.
Post-pandemic, Krishna discovered that self-employment could be significantly enhanced by obtaining loans from the PMEGP.
Upon approval of his application, he received a loan of Rs 9.45 lakh, which allowed him to expand production of his decorative items made from fiber and flowers. His ornamental creations are now in high demand for events at tents, resorts, hotels, and banquet halls.
His market reach has expanded beyond Bihar, with growing demand in several districts of the neighboring state of Jharkhand.
His products are sought after not just in Giridih, Tinpahar, Deoghar, Basukinath, and Dumka in Jharkhand, but also in Navgachia, Katihar, Purnia, Munger, and other areas of the Seemanchal region in Bihar.
Krishna Ashish's entrepreneurial success has also fostered local employment, with his fiber and flower production unit currently providing jobs for around 12-15 individuals.
In Bihar, the number of manufacturing plants for decorative fiber items is limited. Besides Bhagalpur, such facilities are operational in Patna, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, and Samastipur.
As a PMEGP beneficiary and the owner of 'Krishna Fiber', Krishna shared with IANS that his business focuses on producing decorative items from fiber and flowers. He recounted how his work was significantly impacted by an accident he suffered in 2024.
He emphasized that his business has experienced remarkable growth since he began utilizing the scheme's advantages. He now offers a diverse range of decorative products, including tent decor and various other items for resorts and banquet venues.
Krishna Ashish firmly believes that the PMEGP is a tremendous resource for unemployed youth, attributing his renewed hope and success to this initiative and expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Modi.
