Bhagalpur, May 31 (NationPress) The Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) has proven to be a groundbreaking initiative for Rajeev Pradeep, a resident of Bhagalpur in Bihar, allowing him to establish two thriving businesses with a loan of Rs 30 lakh. This journey showcases how the prestigious scheme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is fostering sustainable livelihoods and combating unemployment throughout the nation.
With the backing of this initiative, Rajeev Pradeep has launched two enterprises — one dedicated to manufacturing concrete products and the other focused on tofu production.
By leasing land close to his home for production, he has not only achieved self-sufficiency but also generated local employment, becoming a beacon of hope for other jobless youth in the area.
In his concrete manufacturing facility, Pradeep creates products like paver blocks, checker tiles, concrete benches, bridge blocks, ventilation components, and cover blocks.
At the same time, he has ventured into the food processing industry by starting a tofu (soya paneer) production business, which he perceives as a sector brimming with growth opportunities.
Pradeep acknowledges PMEGP as a crucial employment catalyst for both urban and rural youth. Expressing his appreciation, he remarked to IANS, 'Prime Minister Modi has emphasized the need for self-reliance by lessening our dependence on foreign goods. In this regard, the PMEGP scheme is an immense advantage for the community. Furthermore, the support from the government's industry department and banks has been invaluable. I am grateful to PM Modi for rolling out this scheme.'
To promote wider awareness of such advantageous programs, Pradeep urged influential figures to assist in disseminating information about PMEGP to unemployed youth and their families. He believes that increased participation in the scheme could mitigate migration and unemployment in Bihar.
'People should be informed about PMEGP. They can easily acquire details about the schemes from the Department of Industries. The youth should create employment opportunities through this initiative. This will also address the migration issue and greatly support those who are struggling to find jobs. All of this has been made possible due to the Prime Minister,' he added.
The PMEGP is a credit-linked subsidy initiative designed to facilitate self-employment opportunities by establishing micro-enterprises in the non-farm sector.
It operates nationally under the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), while at the state level, it is managed through State KVIC Directorates, Khadi and Village Industries Boards (KVIBs), District Industries Centres (DICs), and partner banks.
