Dehradun, Feb 9 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, has established a definitive deadline for wrapping up all preparations for the Kumbh Mela 2027 in Haridwar. He stressed that every detail must be finalized by October to facilitate a spectacular and seamless event.

During a high-level review meeting at the Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Auditorium within the Secretariat on Monday, the Chief Minister issued stringent guidelines to officials, mandating the completion of all construction activities related to the Mela by the set deadline while adhering to the highest quality standards.

He was unequivocal in stating that no proposal or project related to the Kumbh Mela should be left unresolved at any governmental level, warning that accountability would be strictly enforced for any lapses.

Dhami highlighted that the primary focus of the state government is to host a magnificent, successful, and devotee-centric Kumbh Mela that showcases the rich cultural and spiritual legacy of Uttarakhand.

He instructed the Secretary of the Public Works Department to appoint specialized technical officers for the event within the next 24 hours. All bridges in the Mela vicinity will undergo comprehensive audits, and prominent ghats, including the renowned Har Ki Pauri, should be beautified, reconstructed, and provided with adequate bathing facilities for millions of pilgrims.

A detailed action plan for sanitation is required, ensuring sufficient toilets and potable water at key spots. Security measures will encompass a robust deployment of forces, water police drones, CCTV systems, and other advanced technologies. Separate, elaborated strategies will tackle law and order, parking, and crowd management to effectively manage the vast number of devotees.

The Chief Minister emphasized that land allocation to various akhadas, religious sects, and monasteries should be executed promptly, with the Mela officer personally overseeing this task. Collaboration with saints, organizations, committees, and local communities will integrate their feedback to ensure inclusive preparations. A large-scale anti-encroachment initiative will clear pathways to guarantee unobstructed movement during the event.

He insisted on the swift clearance of forest-related permissions and improved coordination with neighboring states. All developmental activities must be evident on-site, not merely documented. Arrangements for accommodation, temporary hospitals, tent cities, ambulances, and mobile medical teams must be finalized without delay.

Dhami described the Kumbh Mela as a significant religious and cultural assembly for millions of devotees, affirming that it is a collective responsibility to ensure that participants depart with positive and unforgettable experiences.
