New Delhi, Oct 13 (NationPress) Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) leader Upendra Kushwaha has made a heartfelt plea to his supporters following the NDA's announcement of the seat-sharing arrangement for the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections, where his party has been allocated a mere six seats.
In a poignant message on the social media platform X, Kushwaha expressed his remorse to party members and supporters on Sunday, many of whom were anticipating a larger share of seats. His statement reflects the palpable disappointment among RLM's ranks and its supporters.
“I ask for your forgiveness. The allocation of seats did not meet your expectations. I realize that this decision will cause distress to thousands—millions—of individuals, including the colleagues who aspired to represent our party,” he stated.
Recognizing the emotional turmoil of his supporters, he continued:
“Today, in numerous households, meals may not have been prepared. Nevertheless, I trust that you all comprehend the constraints and limitations faced by both myself and the party. Behind every decision, there are circumstances that may be evident from the outside, but some remain unseen.”
“I humbly urge you to allow your anger to dissipate, and in time, you will discern the appropriateness or inappropriateness of this decision. Time will reveal all,” Kushwaha concluded.
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) finalized its seat-sharing agreement for Bihar on Sunday. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal (United) are set to contest 101 seats each. Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has been granted 29 seats, with both Upendra Kushwaha’s RLM and Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) set to compete for six seats each.
The announcement was made by BJP leaders Vinod Tawde and Dharmendra Pradhan, with Tawde posting on X: “United and Dedicated NDA.” According to Pradhan, the agreement came after a series of discussions in Delhi and Patna among the alliance partners.
In other news, the BJP Central Election Committee has finalized a majority of its candidates, aiming to introduce new faces while possibly replacing sitting MLAs facing public dissatisfaction. The party's initial candidate list is anticipated on Monday.
