In a public appeal, Lok Sabha MP Vinod Chavda encouraged the community to fully comply with the advisory. He stated, “We are all aware of the current situation our country is facing. Kutch, being situated on the international border, is a sensitive area. I ask everyone to support the government and administration during this blackout. Please stay indoors unless absolutely necessary, and don't panic.”
Chavda further emphasized, “The nation is under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is safeguarded by a capable armed forces. To uplift the spirits of our forces, let's all cooperate with the government and administration. If you notice any suspicious objects or individuals, report them immediately to the administration or police.”
The Kutch Collector and District Magistrate posted on the social media platform X, stating: “All citizens of Kutch district are asked to stay safe at home throughout the day. There is no need to go out unnecessarily. We should strictly adhere to the blackout, especially at night. Let’s not panic and follow the administration's guidelines.”
This advisory follows a series of drone incursions from Pakistan that were intercepted by the Indian Armed Forces, with some sightings reported late Friday night and early this morning.
As a precautionary measure, the town of Bhuj, where one of the drones was sighted, has been placed on high alert. The local market has been shut down, and most shops remain closed as police patrol the vicinity.
Despite this, some residents were seen rushing to the few shops that remained open to procure essential goods.
The district administration is closely monitoring the situation and continues to urge residents to remain calm and follow safety protocols.
