Bhopal, Aug 10 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh has achieved its highest export value to date, totaling Rs 66,218 crore in the fiscal year 2024–25. This represents a significant 6 percent year-on-year growth, elevating the state’s national export rank from 15th to 11th, as reported by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO).
A government statement cited in the report indicated that this remarkable growth is largely attributed to strong performances in the pharmaceuticals, engineering goods, and soya-based agricultural products sectors.
The majority of these exports stemmed from merchandise, while IT services from Special Economic Zones (SEZs) added another Rs 4,038 crore. Leading the export categories, pharmaceuticals accounted for Rs 11,968 crore, followed by animal feed at Rs 6,062 crore, machinery at Rs 5,497 crore, aluminum at Rs 4,795 crore, and textiles at Rs 4,656 crore.
The United States remained the primary market for both pharmaceutical and machinery exports, with Bangladesh, France, UAE, and the Netherlands also being significant trading partners.
The report credits this growth to Madhya Pradesh’s investment-friendly industrial policies, a developing manufacturing base, and enhanced export-oriented infrastructure.
The rising global demand for the state’s products has further solidified its standing in international markets.
On a district level, Dhar emerged as the leading exporter with Rs 17,830 crore, followed by Indore at Rs 13,500 crore, both benefiting from the pharmaceutical, automation, and food processing sectors.
Ujjain achieved a notable Rs 2,288 crore in exports, mainly consisting of industrial and processed agricultural goods.
Over the past six years, Madhya Pradesh’s exports have consistently risen from Rs 37,692 crore in 2019–20 to Rs 66,218 crore in 2024–25, including SEZ contributions, as per the statement.
Officials have credited this achievement to ongoing efforts in industrial development and strategic trade facilitation. With its export momentum accelerating, Madhya Pradesh is set to play an increasingly significant role in India’s external trade landscape.
