In a significant advancement for agriculture, the Cabinet allocated Rs 286.26 crore for the Midwas Medium Irrigation Project in Sagar district. Upon completion, this initiative will provide irrigation to 7,200 hectares of farmland across 27 villages, directly benefiting thousands of farmers across three assembly segments, as highlighted by MP CM Yadav on his X handle.
To facilitate modern farming practices, the state government has sanctioned Rs 2,250 crore under the sub-mission on Agricultural Mechanisation (SMAM). These funds will foster agricultural mechanisation, establish custom hiring centres operated by rural youth, manage crop residue, and offer subsidies for hand-operated and bullock-drawn implements for forest-dwelling farmers.
In a significant initiative for women's safety and empowerment, the Cabinet approved Rs 240.42 crore to sustain the operations of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, One Stop Centres, and Women Helpline-181 for the next five years.
Furthermore, the establishment of eight new One Stop Centres has been sanctioned in Mehar, Mauganj, Pandhurna, Manawar (Dhar), Pithampur and Lasudiya, Sanwer (Indore), and Petlawad (Jhabua).
For rural enhancement, Rs 3,553.35 crore was approved to ensure the effective implementation of the Prime Minister’s Poshan Shakti and Mid-Day Meal schemes, along with various other initiatives under the Panchayat and Rural Development Department.
The Cabinet also confirmed Rs 1,005 crore to guarantee uninterrupted health services through the Bhopal Gas Tragedy Relief and Rehabilitation Department up until March 31, 2031.
Additionally, Rs 1,674 crore was cleared with Central assistance to facilitate the establishment of new medical colleges over the next five years.
In the realm of public works, the Cabinet granted administrative approval for various developmental projects totaling Rs 10,801 crore.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav characterized these decisions as a comprehensive strategy to position Madhya Pradesh as a frontrunner in agriculture, women’s welfare, health, and infrastructure.
