Bhopal, July 16 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel is set to administer the oath to Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva as the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court at Raj Bhavan this Thursday.
The oath-taking ceremony is scheduled to be held at Sandipani Auditorium of Raj Bhavan at 10 a.m., as confirmed by an official source.
Numerous senior judges from all three divisional benches of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, as well as district court judges and state government ministers, are expected to attend this significant occasion.
It is noteworthy that Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court on Monday, with the appointment receiving approval from the President.
Justice Sachdeva will take on the role as the 29th Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh.
He previously held the position of Acting Chief Justice from July 9, 2024, to September 24, 2024, and again on May 24, 2025.
Born on December 26, 1964, in Delhi, he earned a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University in 1985, followed by a law degree from Campus Law Centre, also at Delhi University, in 1988.
He became an advocate registered with the Delhi Bar Council on August 1, 1988.
In 1992, he attended the Commonwealth Young Lawyers Course at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of London, collaborating with solicitors and barristers in England.
By 1995, he was appointed as an Advocate on Record at the Supreme Court of India. He also received a British Council scholarship as one of five young lawyers representing India in the Commonwealth Young Lawyers Course.
He was elevated to the position of Additional Judge of the Delhi High Court starting April 17, 2013, and became a Permanent Judge on March 18, 2015.
