Bhopal, March 9 (NationPress) The Madhya Pradesh Police have successfully confiscated over 7,890 kg of illegal opium across three districts: Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, and Damoh, valued at more than Rs 3 crore.

According to police officials, they received information concerning illegal opium farming in a field located in Urdmau village, under the Gadhimalhara police station in Chhatarpur district.
Acting on this tip-off, the police team arrived at the location and examined the area, discovering opium plants cultivated on approximately half an acre.
The police promptly uprooted the opium plants, along with their roots, and seized them.
The total weight of the confiscated crop amounted to roughly 1,140 kg, with an estimated market value of about Rs 70 lakh.
