Mumbai, Oct 1 (NationPress) The Maharashtra government is set to issue appointment letters for government positions to 5,187 candidates on compassionate grounds on October 4. This initiative follows the directives of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis aimed at addressing the backlog of pending compassionate cases.
In addition, certificates will also be awarded to 5,122 appointees from the MPSC, culminating in a total of 10,309 candidates receiving government job confirmations on the same day.
“When an employee passes away while serving in government, their spouse or child is entitled to a job. However, various technical and administrative hurdles have caused delays in these appointments, leading to prolonged waiting periods for the families involved. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recognized the sensitivity of this issue,” stated the government release.
“He instructed the General Administration Department to review the situation through a series of administrative meetings, resulting in the formulation of a new compassionate policy. Consequently, appointment letters will be distributed simultaneously to 5,187 candidates from the compassionate waiting list, effectively clearing a significant backlog,” the release emphasized.
The main event on October 4 will take place in Mumbai, attended by Chief Minister Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, with Guardian Ministers overseeing the distribution of appointment letters in their respective districts.
“This marks a crucial milestone in the administrative reform initiatives led by Chief Minister Fadnavis during the initial 100 and then 150 days of his tenure,” the government statement remarked.
Additionally, appointment letters will be handed out to 5,122 candidates who have successfully completed the MPSC examination for the Clerk-Typist category.
Among the total of 10,309 candidates, the largest group of 3,078 is from the Konkan region, followed by 2,597 from Vidarbha. There are 1,674 candidates in the Pune region, 1,250 in the Nashik region, and 1,710 candidates in Marathwada, as reported by the government release.
