This latest season has introduced two fresh faces, Rajeshwari Sachdev and Darsheel Safary.
Rajeshwari expressed that “Maharani” is not merely a series; it embodies a compelling tale that echoes the heartbeat of politics and authority.
She further stated: “Becoming part of this universe, especially portraying a character with such a pivotal role in the unfolding drama, is extraordinarily exciting. The writing is audacious, the stakes are elevated, and I eagerly anticipate the audience experiencing the tempest my character brings to Rani Bharti’s domain.”
For Darsheel, participating in Maharani 4 represents more than just a character.
He shared: “This is a pivotal moment. This season delves deeper into the turmoil of power, and my character steps directly into the heart of that storm. Prepare for surprises, as nothing remains constant.”
Directed by Puneet Prakash, produced by Kangra Talkies Pvt. Ltd., and crafted by Subhash Kapoor, Maharani 4 features a stellar cast including Huma Qureshi, Shweta Basu Prasad, Vipin Sharma, Amit Sial, Vineet Kumar, Shardul Bhardwaj, Kani Kusruti, and Pramod Pathak.
The prior seasons traced Huma Qureshi’s evolution from an unforeseen political outsider to a cunning leader navigating through the brutal political landscape of Bihar. The forthcoming season is set to continue its blend of political realism and compelling drama.
The inaugural part of this political saga draws inspiration from real events in Bihar during the 1990s when Lalu Prasad Yadav appointed his homemaker wife Rabri Devi as his successor. The storyline for season 1 spans from 1995 to 1999 and is influenced by actual events and figures such as Ranvir Sena, leftist militants, Naxalite factions, the Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) Liberation, the 1997 Laxmanpur Bathe massacre, and the Fodder Scam.
The narrative of season 2 extends from mid-1999 and draws from real events and individuals like the Shilpi-Gautam Murder, Sadhu Yadav, Rajiv Goswami, Shibu Soren, Mohammad Shahabuddin, Prashant Kishor, Indian Political Action Committee, and the 2000 Bihar Legislative Assembly election.
The third season continued to reflect real events, including the Jitan Manjhi incident.
Maharani 4 is set to premiere on November 7 via Sony LIV.
