Maharashtra: CM Fadnavis Unveils Seven-Point Initiative to Enhance Citizens' Quality of Life

Mumbai, Jan 7 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, has instructed the state administration to adhere to a seven-point initiative designed to enhance the quality of life for residents.

In a virtual meeting with Divisional Commissioners, District Collectors, Municipal Commissioners, Police Commissioners, and Superintendents of Police, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of prioritizing tasks over the next 100 days. Their progress will be evaluated on April 15.

The seven-point initiative mandates that officials enhance departmental websites, promote the ease of living concept, organize cleanliness drives in government offices, address citizen complaints and unresolved cases, ensure that entrepreneurs face no disruptions, visit significant government projects and schemes, and facilitate convenience for citizens accessing government offices.

Chief Minister Fadnavis urged the officers to upgrade their office websites, proactively share information required under the Right to Information Act, and ensure that the sites are cyber-secure. He also instructed the removal of unnecessary documents, deregistration of damaged or unused vehicles, and maintaining cleanliness in government offices.

Moreover, the officers are to guarantee that drinking water and toilets remain clean for citizens visiting government offices. They should maintain a tidy appearance during surprise inspections by officials.

He proposed that each office implement at least two reforms or innovative measures to simplify daily life for citizens.

"Aim to eliminate pending tasks completely. Clearly indicate on the information board when officials will be accessible to citizens," he stated.

Fadnavis directed that local-level issues affecting citizens should be addressed at the taluka and district levels. He noted that this has not been occurring, resulting in overcrowding at the Mantralaya in south Mumbai. To counter this, he suggested effective implementation of initiatives like Lokshahi Din.

“Entrepreneurs visiting various regions of the state for investment opportunities must not face any hindrances. This responsibility lies not only with the Industries Department but also with regional officers. For Ease of Working, Divisional Commissioners and District Collectors must engage with both departmental officials and entrepreneurs,” Fadnavis remarked.

He requested that officials visit key government programs and schemes at the district, tehsil, and village levels regularly. Periodic visits should also be conducted at schools, anganwadis, and health centers. The Chief Minister mandated that district guardian secretaries diligently monitor whether these instructions are being executed in their respective areas.
