Nagpur, Dec 13 (NationPress) Maharashtra's Minister of State for Urban Development, Madhuri Misal, announced on Saturday during a session in the state council that the government will initiate a thorough investigation into the construction quality of houses developed by the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) in the Panvel region of Navi Mumbai.
Her remarks came as a response to a discussion led by member Vikrant Patil under Rule 97.
Minister Misal clarified that maintenance and repair fees are collected for a period of two years after the sale of CIDCO homes. These funds are allocated for building upkeep, including water, electricity, and elevator maintenance. Additionally, the advance payments for utilities and security expenses are transferred to the residents' society once it is established. CIDCO is also working towards registering the society when at least 51% of the residents are on board, at which point the maintenance responsibilities will shift to that society.
The minister indicated that a meeting will be convened with all relevant stakeholders regarding the CIDCO housing concerns. She also noted that the issue of property taxes related to these homes is currently pending in court, and actions will proceed based on the court's ruling.
In a related discussion, Pankaj Bhoyar, the Minister of State for School Education, assured the council that every school in the state will be staffed with teachers, responding to member Kiran Sarnaik's inquiry about teacher shortages.
Minister Bhoyar explained that the High Court has upheld the government's decision regarding the recognition of educational establishments as of March 15, 2024. He emphasized that ongoing development projects in the state are bridging the gap between remote and urban areas, ensuring that all schools will have adequate teaching staff.
Additionally, Minister Bhoyar addressed another query from member Sadabhau Khot, stating that the central government is promoting military schools to instill discipline among students and prepare them for entry into the NDA. He confirmed that the state government is committed to enhancing facilities for these schools, similar to the support provided for the Satara military school.
Moreover, in response to member Vikram Kale's question, he mentioned that the department will organize discussions with the Skill Development Minister regarding potential job opportunities for educated unemployed youth in fields beyond teaching. He stressed that teachers will be focused solely on their teaching responsibilities.
