Mumbai, July 30 (NationPress) Maharashtra's Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced on Wednesday that all industrial approvals will be accessible online through the MAITRI portal.
“Maharashtra is progressing towards a 1 trillion dollar economy thanks to its industrial sector. Therefore, essential services such as water supply, electricity, road access, environmental and forest clearances, labor approvals, and land allocation must be promptly available to industries. All permissions should be provided online, for which the MAITRI portal will be fully integrated,” he stated.
“If entrepreneurs encounter challenges with government departments, an anonymous complaint facility should be established,” he mentioned during a meeting addressing various issues concerning the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).
CM Fadnavis emphasized that the Water Resources Department must meet industrial water demands. Priority should be given to constructing power substations at Majalgaon, Dighi, Butibori, Chamorshi (Gadchiroli), Jaipur (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar), and PM Mitra (Amravati). Distinct solutions need to address power transmission and maintenance challenges for industries.
He also directed that all permissions from the Environment Department should be made available on the MAITRI portal. Furthermore, the Public Works Department should act to connect the Shendra-Bidkin Road to the Samruddhi Highway. As new industries are favoring Butibori, immediate measures for road connectivity in this region must be taken.
CM Fadnavis asserted that industries in the state should receive Consent to Establish and Consent to Operate permits in a timely manner, while unnecessary permissions should be eliminated. Intrusive inspections by industry representatives should cease.
Decisions and circulars regarding land allocation for industries should be revised and consolidated. He also instructed the establishment of separate procedures for workers in industries.
The chief minister pointed out that areas in Maharashtra housing MIDC-run industrial estates should be designated as industrial cities.
“Granting industrial city status will resolve the issue of double taxation,” he added. He also instructed that eligibility certificates for industries should be issued online.
During this occasion, CM Fadnavis conducted a thorough review of the land acquisition process of the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation and ongoing and proposed land acquisitions for various industrial projects.
