Mumbai, July 15 (NationPress) Maharashtra's Minister Uday Samant announced on Tuesday during the State Council session that the government has issued orders to initiate measures against all unauthorised slaughterhouses operating within the state, including those in Malegaon.

Responding to a question from member Vikrant Patil about the situation of illegal slaughterhouses in Malegaon, Minister Samant noted, "The status of slaughterhouses in the vicinity of Qureshi Mohalla to Sardar Chowk in Malegaon is concerning. Appropriate actions are anticipated against these unlawfully operating slaughterhouses, with some actions already taken. Stricter guidelines will be issued to the police administration, ensuring immediate measures wherever such illegal activities are identified."

He added, "During festive occasions, temporary slaughterhouses are established in certain regions through the Municipal Corporation and municipalities. In these areas, precautions are taken to prevent blood flow by using sand and soil."

Furthermore, he stated, "Should evidence emerge regarding blood-stained water being discharged into the Mosam river, action will be pursued following an investigation by the relevant officials for providing misinformation in the House. The state government has allocated a budget of Rs 10.52 crore for the conservation of the Mosam river, with Rs 5.26 crore already disbursed to the Malegaon Municipal Corporation."

Meanwhile, Minister of State for School Education, Pankaj Bhoyar, confirmed in the State Council that the Pavitra portal will remain operational, with necessary modifications to enhance its functionality.

He assured that the teacher recruitment process in the state will persist. This statement was a response to a calling attention motion presented by member Jayant Asgaonkar regarding the recruitment procedures.

Minister Bhoyar mentioned that as per the High Court's directives from 2017, a dedicated portal has been established for filling teaching positions in local bodies, along with private-aided and unaided schools across the state.

"Candidates are appointed based on the available vacancies through this portal. However, issues sometimes arise when candidates fail to appear or do not meet eligibility criteria. Steps will be taken to ensure that only qualified candidates receive opportunities. It is inappropriate to shut down the portal; the recruitment process will continue, and the department will be instructed to remove the names of candidates already appointed from the portal. An efficient, transparent, and streamlined recruitment process will be established for school administrators," he stated.

According to the Minister, the recruitment process will be expedited to guarantee that students receive quality education from qualified teachers.

The state government will consider all valuable suggestions and initiatives to enhance the portal's efficiency, he concluded.
