MahaYuti 2.0 Government: Time to Deliver on Promises

Mumbai, Dec 5 (NationPress) The Congress party, a partner in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), has urged the newly established MahaYuti 2.0 government to honor its electoral commitments and meet the expectations of the citizens.

The President of the Maharashtra unit of Congress, Nana F. Patole, emphasized that the 'Gujarat-centric' government now in charge of Maharashtra must uphold the dignity of icons such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, B.R. Ambedkar, and others.

Patole stated, "With assistance from the Election Commission of India (ECI), this government has come into power through dubious means, including vote theft and manipulation during counting. Despite securing a controversial majority, the new government emerged amidst significant disputes and internal conflicts that have damaged the reputation of both the state and the nation.

Supriya Sule, the Working President of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), offered warm congratulations to the new Chief Minister from the Bharatiya Janata Party, Devendra Fadnavis, as well as Shiv Sena's Deputy CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Ajit A. Pawar from the NCP.

Kishore Tiwari, spokesperson for Shiv Sena-UBT, remarked that both Shinde and Ajit Pawar “pursued the allure of power” rather than demonstrating the bravery required to forge a new political path for the state, possibly succumbing to “pressure tactics and influences.”

Patole further noted that despite their considerable majority, the three MahaYuti allies struggled for almost 12 days following the Assembly election results on November 23 to form their government.

“However, I doubt that the two Deputy CMs (Shinde and Ajit Pawar) will hold much significance in this administration. They were reduced to making frequent trips to New Delhi, pleading for ministerial positions, which has diminished their authority,” Patole claimed.

The Congress leader asserted that thanks to the favor of the Central BJP leadership, while Shinde and Ajit Pawar have secured a place within the MahaYuti alliance, the BJP may find little use for Shinde given the current numbers.

Patole urged, "As we have pointed out before, the BJP has once again diminished the role of two regional parties. Now that the BJP has established its government, it must fulfill its campaign promises, including the Rs 2,100/month for the ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme, debt relief for farmers, waiving electricity bills for agricultural pumps, and priority recruitment for the 2.50 lakh vacant government positions.”

The MVA allies declared that although their numbers in the Assembly may have decreased, their resolve and enthusiasm have only intensified, and they will persist in raising the concerns of the public and ensuring justice for them.
