Maharashtra Governor Invites Fadnavis to Lead Government, Swearing-In Ceremony Scheduled for Thursday with PM Modi

Mumbai, December 4 (NationPress) The coalition known as MahaYuti formally presented a letter to claim government formation to the Governor of Maharashtra, C.P. Radhakrishnan, on Wednesday.
The leader of the Shiv Sena, Eknath Shinde, along with NCP President Ajit Pawar, endorsed Devendra Fadnavis as the Chief Minister after he was unanimously chosen as the leader of the BJP legislative party.
Following this, the Governor extended an invitation to MahaYuti to establish the government.
Fadnavis informed the media that the swearing-in ceremony is set for Thursday at 5:30 PM, which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also noted that other BJP allies and independent legislators have expressed their support for his role as Chief Minister.
Fadnavis mentioned that he met Eknath Shinde on Tuesday, encouraging him to join the government.
“I am confident that he (Shinde) will agree to my proposition. Similar requests have come from the Shiv Sena members. Over the past two and a half years, Eknath Shinde, Ajit Pawar, and I have collaboratively made decisions for the betterment of Maharashtra. We will finalize tomorrow how many ministers will take the oath,” stated Fadnavis.
“I am grateful to the PM for allowing me to serve the state. My appreciation also goes to Home Minister Amit Shah, party president J.P. Nadda, and Union Minister Ramdas Athavale for their backing,” he added.
Ajit Pawar clarified that his recent trip to Delhi was not for a meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah, asserting, “It was solely a personal visit.”
In the meantime, Ajit Pawar confirmed his participation in the swearing-in ceremony tomorrow.
“We will collaboratively work towards the development of Maharashtra. Our experience in assisting various demographics will be beneficial. The central government stands with us. We have a significant majority, leaving no room for dissent. We are committed to fulfilling all promises made to the electorate prior to the Assembly elections,” Pawar emphasized.
Caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde confirmed that the Governor has granted authorization to form the government.
“I extend an invitation to everyone for the swearing-in event tomorrow. I appreciate Fadnavis’s requests for participation in the government. Five years ago, Devendra Fadnavis recommended my appointment as Chief Minister to the Governor. Today, I have offered Shiv Sena’s support to Devendra Fadnavis as Chief Minister. I have always stated my commitment to abide by the decisions made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding government formation,” articulated the caretaker Chief Minister.
Shinde remarked that Maharashtra has never experienced such a massive electoral victory before, asserting that MahaYuti received an overwhelming mandate.
“As partners in MahaYuti, we have functioned as a government for the common man. We have enacted decisions for welfare and development initiatives. Projects stalled by the Maha Vikas Aghadi administration have been revitalized. We have strived to enhance the lives of ordinary citizens,” he added.
Shinde also expressed gratitude to PM Modi, Amit Shah, Nadda, and the central government for their assistance in accelerating the development process in the state.
