Fadnavis Administration Successfully Passes Confidence Motion in Maharashtra Assembly

Mumbai, Dec 9 (NationPress) The Maharashtra Assembly convened on Monday and successfully passed a resolution, through a voice vote, demonstrating complete confidence in the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis-headed council of ministers.
The resolution was introduced by Uday Samant, Sanjay Kute, Dilip Walse-Patil, and Ravi Rana.
Upon the resolution's introduction, the newly elected Speaker Rahul Narwekar declared that the confidence motion had been approved via voice vote and subsequently adjourned the assembly. This marks a significant legislative achievement for Fadnavis.
The Chief Minister is anticipated to expand his council of ministers shortly, ahead of the Winter Session of the state legislature commencing on December 16 in Maharashtra’s second capital, Nagpur.
Fadnavis, alongside Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, took the oath of office at a grand ceremony held on December 5, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, numerous NDA leaders, industrialists, Bollywood personalities, Ladki Bahins, and around 40,000 individuals from various sectors of society.
The MahaYuti coalition, consisting of the BJP, the Shiv Sena, and the NCP, holds a total of 237 seats in the Assembly, with representation from 50 legislators.
Fadnavis expressed his intent to rejuvenate political dialogue, particularly with opposition parties, which has significantly diminished over the past five years. Following his assumption of office, he stated that despite the MahaYuti achieving a resounding victory, the government would not stifle opposing voices.
"We will not evaluate opponents based on their numbers," he asserted. "We aim not for a politics of change, but for a politics that demonstrates change. We will not engage in vindictive politics. If the opposition raises valid concerns, the government will acknowledge and respond to them constructively. We foresee five years of a completely stable government. The populace has granted us a majority, hence they expect Maharashtra to experience stable governance. The upheavals witnessed until 2022 must not recur," he emphasized.
