Maharashtra: Fadnavis Approves Initial File, Allocates Rs 5 Lakh Support to Patient

Mumbai, Dec 5 (NationPress) The newly appointed Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, on Thursday, prior to leading his first Cabinet meeting, authorized the initial file to offer a financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to Chandrakant Shankar Karhade, a patient from Pune. This financial support will be drawn from the Chief Minister’s assistance fund.

Accompanied by Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, Fadnavis urged the administration to operate with enhanced efficiency.

“We need to act swiftly to meet the expectations of the people. We will accelerate the decision-making and implementation processes to ensure sustainable development,” he remarked to the bureaucrats during the Cabinet meeting.

Upon his arrival, he was greeted by Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, who presented him with a bouquet. The state chief secretary, Sujata Saunik, also extended a warm welcome to the Chief Minister and the two Deputy Chief Ministers before the Cabinet meeting commenced.

As soon as he entered Mantralaya directly from the swearing-in ceremony at Azad Maidan, the staff performed a traditional Aarti for the Chief Minister and the two Deputy Chief Ministers. The trio then paid floral tributes to Chhatrapati Shivaji and Rajnath Jihad at the entrance of the Mantralaya, where they were welcomed by the staff.

Earlier, Fadnavis took his oath of office and secrecy during a grand ceremony attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and numerous NDA leaders.

Meanwhile, Eknath Shinde, who led the MahaYuti government as Chief Minister for two and a half years, initially hesitant, decided to join the cabinet led by Fadnavis as Deputy Chief Minister, taking his oath alongside NCP president Ajit Pawar who also assumed the role of Deputy Chief Minister. The oath was administered by Governor CP Radhakrishnan.

In the meantime, a special session of the 15th assembly will occur in Mumbai from December 7 to 9. All 288 members will take their oaths during this session. Additionally, the Governor is set to address the joint session on December 9, the same day a new Speaker will be elected. Fadnavis is also expected to request a floor test on December 9.

Subsequently, a winter session will be conducted from December 16 to 21 in Nagpur, during which the government will present supplementary demands.
