Saraikela, March 31 (NationPress) A man has heinously taken the lives of his wife and their five-year-old son in Jharkhand’s Saraikela district on Monday morning. The perpetrator used an iron pan to brutally bludgeon them, as reported by officials.

This appalling act occurred in the Kapali OP area, leaving the local community in a state of shock.

The accused, known as Sukhram Munda, was detained by the authorities shortly after the crime.

Initial investigations indicate that the incident was sparked by a domestic conflict. Reports suggest that Sukhram often engaged in arguments with his wife, Parvati Devi, primarily due to his alcohol consumption.

Witnesses recounted hearing loud disputes from the couple’s residence early in the morning, followed by the chilling screams of Parvati and her son, Ganesh Munda.

Upon their arrival at the scene, neighbors were met with a gruesome sight — both mother and child were found in pools of blood, suffering from severe head injuries.

Although Sukhram attempted to flee the scene, police managed to apprehend him nearby shortly after.

During a thorough search of the location, law enforcement recovered a blood-stained iron pan and a blade. It is suspected that after repeatedly striking his wife and son with the heavy pan, Sukhram may have used the blade to inflict fatal wounds.

The bodies have been sent for a post-mortem examination, while forensic teams are investigating the crime scene for further evidence.

Local residents informed the police that the couple's frequent disputes, often fueled by alcohol, were well-known in the area.

In the aftermath of this tragic event, relatives of the deceased have gathered at the scene, demanding severe punishment for the accused.

Sonu Kumar, the officer in charge of Kapali OP, stated that an investigation is currently ongoing. 'We have secured the murder weapon, and the suspect is being interrogated to clarify the sequence of events,' he said.
