Gurugram, May 13 (NationPress) - A man has been taken into custody for allegedly murdering his father-in-law following a heated argument in the Sohna region of Gurugram, according to police reports from Tuesday.
The suspect, identified as Prabhat Kamal, hails from Lavabar village in Jharkhand, while the deceased is recognized as Milan Topo.
On Tuesday, the victim's daughter alerted the police, claiming that her husband had killed her father and locked the body inside their rented accommodation in Sohna.
A police unit from the Sohna City police station promptly arrived at the scene, forced entry into the locked room, and discovered the body lying in a pool of blood.
Authorities conducted a thorough examination of the crime scene, deploying teams from Scene of Crime, FSL, Fingerprint, and Dog Squad.
The daughter informed the police that she and her husband lived in a rented space in Sohna along with her father and their two children.
She mentioned that her husband often engaged in disputes after drinking alcohol.
"On Monday, he had an argument with me, leading me to leave for Sirsa in the evening. On Tuesday morning at 9:00 AM, I received a call from him confessing that he had killed my father," the complainant recounted to the police.
Following her statement, a case was filed under the relevant sections at the Sohna City police station in Gurugram.
During the investigation, the police team, led by Inspector Praveen Kumar, the station house officer (SHO) of Sohna City police station, apprehended the accused in the Sohna area on Tuesday.
In a related incident from April, another man was arrested for strangling his 10-year-old sister-in-law as an act of revenge against his in-laws.
During questioning, the accused, Mohit, revealed that he had married the elder sister of the deceased six years earlier and had a child with her. However, his wife was living at her parental home and had refused to return to him. After attempts to communicate with his in-laws were ignored, he felt humiliated and plotted revenge.
On April 12, he lured the 10-year-old girl from her home in the Om Vihar area of Gurugram, transported her to his room in Bajghera, and tragically strangled her to death during the night, police stated.
