Gurugram, May 11 (NationPress) In a deeply disturbing event, a father was taken into custody for allegedly murdering his 6-year-old son following the child's refusal to provide him with water, according to police reports.

The suspect has been identified as Suman Kumar Singh, originally from Muzaffarpur, Bihar, but currently residing in Shakti Nagar, Gurugram.

Authorities apprehended Singh in the Shakti Nagar locality of Gurugram. He faced a judge on Saturday and was subsequently remanded to jail.

On May 6, a police unit from the Sector-10A police station was alerted by a hospital regarding the admission of a 6-year-old boy named Satyam, who had suffered a head injury.

Upon arrival at the hospital, the police learned that the child had been transferred to PGI Rohtak, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The following day, Satyam's mother informed law enforcement that she had received a call from her husband’s contractor, who notified her of her child's injury. She rushed to their rented residence in Shakti Nagar, Gurugram, only to find her son unconscious and injured.

He was taken to a government hospital, where he was later referred to PGI Rohtak, but was declared dead upon arrival. The autopsy report indicated that Satyam had succumbed to head injuries.

Based on the autopsy findings and the mother’s testimony, a murder charge was filed against Singh at the Sector-10A Police Station in Gurugram.

During questioning, the accused revealed that he is a daily wage laborer while his wife also works as a laborer in a local company.

"On May 6, after returning home without work and under the influence of alcohol, the accused asked Satyam for water. When Satyam did not comply, Singh slapped him. When Satyam threatened to inform his mother, Singh escalated the violence, resulting in Satyam hitting his head against the wall multiple times, leading to fatal injuries," stated a spokesperson for the Gurugram police.
