Four Arrested in Gurugram for the Murder of a Teen Over a Mobile Phone

Gurugram, Dec 28 (NationPress) A crime branch unit of the Gurugram police has taken into custody four individuals for their alleged involvement in the murder of a 19-year-old youth during a confrontation regarding a mobile phone, police stated.
The victim has been identified as Ashish, an autorickshaw driver from Bhangrola village in Gurugram.
The suspects include Brijesh alias Rinku, Umesh alias Nahne, and Arvinder Kumar, all hailing from Uttar Pradesh, along with Siyasaran Sahu alias Sibbu from Madhya Pradesh.
As per police reports, on December 22, they were alerted about a body discovered in the waterlogged area of the green belt along the Dwarka Expressway near Harsaru village.
Upon reaching the scene, the police team found the body.
The police's scene-of-crime, forensic science laboratory, and fingerprint teams also examined the location.
"After examining the deceased and the scene, the police made efforts to identify the body, ultimately identifying him as Ashish," stated Varun Dahiya, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime).
The victim's father reported to the police through a written complaint that his son Ashish was renting an autorickshaw.
Ashish bore injuries on his head, and his neck had been slashed with a muffler.
The father claimed that unknown assailants murdered his son.
Following the father’s complaint, a case was filed under the pertinent sections at the Sector-10 police station in Gurugram.
During an investigation, a police team led by Inspector Jagveer Singh, Incharge of the Crime Branch in Palam Vihar, arrested the suspects on Thursday along Kankarola Road in Gurugram.
During questioning, the police learned that the suspects were renting a place in Kankarola.
Brijesh had a prior acquaintance with Ashish.
"Ashish had taken Brijesh's mobile phone forcefully. Subsequently, on the night of December 21 and 22, Brijesh, along with accomplices, went to confront Ashish in Bhangrola village, leading to an altercation. They struck Ashish on the head with a brick, placed him in the autorickshaw, and strangled him with a muffler. They later disposed of Ashish's body in the green belt of the Dwarka Expressway and fled the scene," explained ACP (Crime) Dahiya.
Further proceedings are being handled by the police as per regulations concerning this case.
The investigation is ongoing.
