Gurugram, Jan 18 (NationPress) The Gurugram Police have detained four additional individuals—three days after the capture of a minor—due to their alleged roles in the abduction and murder of a 17-year-old boy from the Devilal Colony region, an official reported on Saturday.
The tragic event occurred on Monday. Previously, the Gurugram Police had arrested one suspect on Wednesday in Jewar (Uttar Pradesh). The individuals taken into custody have been identified as Mannu a.k.a. 'Attack' from Uttar Pradesh, Priyanshu, Shammi from Gurugram, and Nitesh a.k.a. 'Risky' from Uttar Pradesh.
The victim’s father lodged a complaint on Tuesday, stating that his son was abducted near a church in Devilal Colony at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
In light of this complaint, a kidnapping case was registered at the Sector-9A police station in Gurugram.
During the investigation, authorities discovered the victim's body on Wednesday near Basai village, prompting the addition of a murder charge to the case, according to police sources.
Upon interrogation, it was revealed that one of the suspects had befriended the victim and gained his trust.
On January 12, the victim was forced to consume alcohol, kidnapped, and taken to a location between Basai and Dwarka Expressway by approximately 9 to 10 individuals.
The police disclosed, "Eventually, he was murdered... he sustained injuries from stones and sticks."
After reviewing the criminal history of the suspects, it was noted that the minor apprehended on Wednesday had three prior cases related to robbery, theft, and altercations. Priyanshu had four robbery cases and violations of the Arms Act, while Mannu had two similar charges against him, stated Sandeep Kumar, spokesperson for the Gurugram Police.
"We have placed the accused in custody for three days, during which thorough questioning is being conducted. Further actions will be initiated based on the facts that emerge during police interrogation. The investigation is ongoing,” he added.
