Gurugram, January 15 (NationPress) On Wednesday, the Gurugram Police apprehended a 17-year-old minor for his alleged role in the abduction and murder of another 17-year-old boy from the Devilal Colony area, an official reported. The incident occurred on Monday.

The father of the victim lodged a complaint on Tuesday, stating that his son had been abducted near a church in Devilal Colony at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Monday.

Following the complaint, a kidnapping case was registered at the Sector-9A police station in Gurugram.

During the investigation, authorities discovered the deceased's body on Wednesday near Basai village, prompting the addition of murder charges to the case, according to police reports.

Joint teams from Police Station Sector-9A, Crime Branch Sector-10, and Crime Branch Sector-17 took swift action and arrested the minor suspect in Jewar (Uttar Pradesh) on Wednesday.

Interrogation revealed that one of the suspects had befriended the victim and gained his trust.

“On January 12, the victim was coerced into drinking alcohol, kidnapped, and taken to a location between Basai and the Dwarka Expressway by approximately 9 to 10 individuals. Subsequently, he was brutally murdered with stones and sticks,” stated Jitender Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).

Upon reviewing police records, it was found that the deceased teenager had three prior cases against him for fighting.

“The investigation revealed that the accused also had three cases filed against him for robbery, theft, and quarrels in Gurugram. We have detained several youths connected to the crime for thorough questioning. Further actions will be determined based on the facts that emerge during police interrogation. The investigation is ongoing,” the ACP elaborated.
