Gurugram, Jan 15 (NationPress) A suspect has been detained regarding the murder of a 22-year-old male in Rithoj village within the Gurugram district, as confirmed by police on Wednesday.
The deceased, known as Harsh Kumar, was discovered in a pool of blood on Monday, reported the Gurugram Police.
The alleged perpetrator has been named as Vishal alias Bholu (20), who hails from the same village.
According to Sandeep Kumar, a spokesperson for the Gurugram Police, "The suspect was apprehended at the Sector-40 market by the Crime Branch team and has been placed on police remand for additional interrogation."
The family of the victim informed the authorities that Harsh had retired to a makeshift hut used for field guarding on the night of January 12-13.
However, on Monday, Harsh's body was discovered with visible head injuries. Local police quickly arrived at the scene and retrieved the body.
Forensic specialists were called in to assess the crime scene and gather evidence.
The body was subsequently sent to the district hospital for an autopsy.
Upon reviewing police records during the initial investigation, it was revealed that in 2024, Harsh had assaulted Vishal, leading to a case being filed at the Bhondsi Police Station.
The crime branch of the Sector-40 police conducted preliminary investigations, successfully apprehending the suspect within 24 hours of the body’s discovery.
During the interrogation, Vishal disclosed that Harsh had previously attacked him, resulting in a registered case.
Vishal claimed that Harsh continued to provoke him despite the case being filed against him.
Vishal stated that he had relocated to Delhi and returned to the village on the night of January 12-13 for a cousin's birthday celebration.
He admitted to consuming alcohol with friends and subsequently murdering Harsh.
