Manhunt Launched Following Fatal Shooting of Woman in Queensland, Australia

Sydney, Dec 23 (NationPress) A police manhunt has been initiated for two individuals after a woman was fatally shot in the Australian state of Queensland.

The Queensland Police issued a statement on Sunday indicating that they responded to a location on Railway Parade in Caboolture, a town approximately 45 km north of Brisbane, at around 12:10 a.m. on Sunday, where they discovered the woman unconscious and unresponsive. She was later pronounced dead, according to reports from Xinhua news agency.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the 23-year-old woman was attacked by two males and suffered a gunshot wound outside the property on Railway Parade.

Detectives are of the opinion that this was not a random act of violence and have commenced a homicide investigation.

There has been a concerning rise in shooting incidents across the country this month, prompting safety alarms.

On December 20, a man was killed and two others were injured as a result of a shooting in Melbourne, the capital of Victoria.

Authorities were dispatched to a location in Campbellfield, located 15 km north of central Melbourne, at 10:10 p.m. local time following reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found a 60-year-old man with severe and life-threatening injuries.

He was transported to a nearby medical facility, where he succumbed to his injuries.

According to Victoria Police, two men aged 22 and 20 are currently under police supervision in the hospital.

The police statement noted that these two individuals came to their attention after being admitted to the hospital with injuries, and they will be questioned regarding the incident.

“At this stage, it is believed that the incident was targeted, and the individuals involved are known to each other,” the police stated.

In another shooting event on December 12, two teenagers were apprehended, suspected of being connected to a crash, car fire, and shooting in western Sydney.

Police in New South Wales reported that officers responded to gunfire reported at a barbershop in Mount Druitt, roughly 40 kilometers west of central Sydney, around 2:20 a.m. local time.

Upon arrival, police noticed multiple bullet holes in the shop’s window.

This shooting incident was reported shortly after two 17-year-old teenagers were arrested at the scene of a crashed vehicle in a nearby suburb.

The vehicle, identified as stolen, had failed to comply with a police order to stop, leading to a pursuit that ended with the crash. The two teenagers were uninjured and taken into custody on-site.
