Chatra (Jharkhand), June 10 (NationPress) The police of Jharkhand have apprehended a prominent Maoist figure and unearthed a significant stockpile of weaponry from a forested area in Chatra district, according to officials.
Arjun Ganjhu, a leading commander of the outlawed Maoist group Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TSPC), was captured during a raid in Tikda village which falls under the jurisdiction of the Lawalong police station.
In response to intelligence about his whereabouts, a special task force led by Simaria SDPO Shubham Khandelwal executed the operation resulting in Ganjhu's arrest.
During a press briefing on Tuesday, Chatra Superintendent of Police Sumit Agrawal disclosed that a locally manufactured pistol was seized from Ganjhu when he was taken into custody.
