Patna, March 21 (NationPress) In a significant advancement in the relentless effort against Maoist operations in Bihar, a coordinated initiative by the Special Task Force (STF) and Nawada Police led to the detention of two individuals connected to a prohibited organization.
As per an official statement, the apprehended suspects are affiliated with the People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI).
They have been identified as Dayanand Rajvanshi, also known as ‘Gurjar’ or ‘Pappu’, and Mithlesh Rajvanshi, both hailing from Hardiya village within the jurisdiction of the Rajauli police station.
The detentions occurred following precise intelligence reports that pinpointed the suspects' location in the area.
Acting on this intelligence, the STF and local law enforcement conducted a joint operation, successfully capturing both suspects.
“Following their interrogation, security personnel carried out additional searches in a nearby forested region, leading to the recovery of a substantial cache of weaponry, including around 40 kilograms of explosives,” an official confirmed.
Authorities reported that, based on information gathered during questioning, a search operation was executed in the Bhanekhap forest and hilly terrain under the Rajauli police station's jurisdiction.
During the raid, security forces seized two standard rifles, 20 live cartridges, tactical gear featuring a bulletproof plate, nine detonators, approximately 40 kilograms of explosives (packaged separately), and around 100 meters of detonation cord.

Initial investigations indicate that both suspects have long-standing ties to the outlawed group and were allegedly working to rejuvenate and escalate Maoist activities in the region.
The police highlighted this operation as a crucial success, emphasizing its potential to thwart imminent incidents and diminish extremist networks operating locally.
An FIR has been filed at Rajauli Police Station, and further legal actions are in progress.
Interrogations of the detained individuals are ongoing, with agencies striving to unveil the broader network and potential connections to other operatives.
Officials have reiterated a stringent approach against extremism, asserting that any attempts to disrupt peace in the state will be met with strict measures.
