New Delhi, April 9 (NationPress) In a collaborative effort involving the Bihar Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the National Investigation Agency (NIA) successfully recovered two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) that were hidden by CPI (Maoist) militants in the Bhusiya forest area of Gaya district, Bihar on Wednesday.

This operation was initiated following intelligence reports received by the NIA on Monday. These reports indicated that the prohibited Maoist faction had concealed explosives in the forested area of Lutuwa. The information was swiftly analyzed, prompting the NIA to send a specialized team to the site to locate and neutralize the potential threat.

The Special Task Force (STF) of Bihar Police and CRPF worked closely together throughout the operation. They devised a comprehensive plan for the challenging task of retrieving the IEDs from the dense forest terrain. The operation unfolded in the remote region of Kari Pahadi, where the explosives were hidden between two rocks.

During a thorough and systematic combing operation, the teams successfully recovered two IEDs, each weighing approximately 3 kilograms. The devices were cautiously secured, and a Bomb Disposal and Detection Squad (BDDS) from the CRPF was dispatched to neutralize the threat. In accordance with standard procedures, the IEDs were detonated safely at the same location without any incidents.

The successful recovery of these IEDs marks a significant achievement in the ongoing efforts to combat Maoist terrorism in the region. The NIA has filed a case at the local police station under the Explosive Substance Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UA(P)A).

Authorities have indicated that this operation is part of a larger counter-terrorism initiative in Bihar, aimed at disrupting CPI (Maoist) activities and ensuring public safety in the state’s vulnerable areas.
