Patna, April 4 (NationPress) In a significant operation targeting Naxalites, the Gaya Police, in collaboration with Bihar’s Special Task Force (STF), have apprehended seven Naxal operatives since March 30. A substantial cache of arms and ammunition was recovered, including items that were previously looted from police teams.

Gaya SSP Anand Kumar indicated that this crackdown is part of an ongoing initiative to dismantle Naxal networks in the district.

On April 3, the district police received intelligence regarding Naxal activities in Gangti Bazar, located within the jurisdiction of the Imamganj police station.

In response, a special team led by City SP Gaya, which included members from the Bihar STF and district police, was dispatched to conduct a raid.

“Upon arrival, a suspect attempted to escape but was swiftly apprehended. The individual has been identified as Rupesh Paswan, a resident of Qadirganj village under Imamganj Police Station. During questioning, Paswan revealed the locations of hidden arms and provided information about two accomplices,” Kumar stated.

“As a result, we arrested Uday Kumar Yadav and Bablu Kumar. Both were apprehended from Tilathi Hill in the Chhakkarbandha area of Gaya district. All three individuals have been charged under relevant sections at Imamganj police station,” Kumar confirmed.

The joint operation resulted in the recovery of three SLR rifles, a 3006 semi-automatic rifle (one of which was stolen from a private individual), 527 live cartridges of various calibers, one can bomb weighing approximately 0.5 kg, six detonators with wires, seven SLR magazines, two INSAS rifle magazines, four SLR chargers, two tactical body pouches, one Walkie Talkie, and one multi-meter.

Previously, on March 30, Rajesh Yadav alias Bihad Yadav, a zonal commander, was arrested in the Raigarh district of Maharashtra.

On April 1, Vikram Kumar alias Kailu Yadav and Lala Sharma alias Lal Sharma were captured in Gaya, followed by the arrest of Brajesh Kumar Singh on April 2.

“This operation is part of our relentless efforts to undermine Naxal activity in Gaya. We are dedicated to maintaining law and order in the region and will persist in our pursuit of such elements,” Kumar emphasized.

The operation underscores the intensified commitment of Bihar STF and Gaya police in dismantling Naxal networks in the Imamganj-Chhakkarbandha area, historically known for Naxal activities.
