Bhopal, Nov 19 (NationPress) A restaurant in Bhopal's Misrod area was engulfed in chaos as over 20 masked individuals invaded and wreaked havoc, damaging furniture and decor while frightened patrons fled for safety, officials reported on Wednesday.
The shocking episode unfolded late Tuesday night, lasting merely two minutes, according to police.
As per police reports, the group crashed into the restaurant around midnight, flipping tables, shattering chairs, and vandalizing decorative pieces.
The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera located within the premises.
A video circulating on social media depicts the assailants entering en masse and immediately kicking and tossing furniture. They were seen donning masks.
Customers present during the incident were observed hastily exiting as the attackers unleashed chaos, as shown in the footage.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, as the group refrained from assaulting the staff or diners.
The restaurant owner, Sakchham Giri, filed a complaint at the Misrod police station, prompting officers to arrive at the scene and review the CCTV recordings.
Authorities suspect that the assault might be connected to an ongoing dispute, though the precise motive remains uncertain. Investigations are currently ongoing.
DCP Vivek Singh stated that an FIR has been filed and all police stations within the city have been notified.
“A comprehensive search operation is underway to identify and apprehend the perpetrators,” he mentioned.
Law enforcement is examining every angle, including CCTV footage, unusual activities, route mapping, and possible disputes.
Reports indicate that police detained at least two individuals for questioning on Wednesday morning, although no formal arrests have been made.
It’s worth noting that a similar event occurred in September in Jabalpur, where over a dozen masked men vandalized a restaurant, causing panic among customers.
