Officials highlighted that the Krishi Kumbh presents a vital chance for farmers to connect with agriculture experts and discover scientific farming practices that can elevate crop yields and secure better incomes.
Numerous booths, exhibitions, and guidance sessions focused on various facets of the agriculture sector have been set up at the event, drawing a significant number of farmers from the area.
Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer, Batu Patil, noted that this year's event is experiencing an enthusiastic turnout from both farmers and attendees.
“This year's Krishi Kumbh is remarkable due to the high attendance. We are also showcasing 14 different export-quality grape varieties at our stall,” Patil informed IANS.
Officials also mentioned that the Maharashtra government and the Agriculture Department are vigorously promoting modern and scientific farming practices through such initiatives, encouraging farmers to embrace new technologies and methodologies.
Furthermore, the Agriculture Department has launched a digital initiative to assist farmers in accessing essential information easily via the MahaVISTAAR-AI mobile application.
Circle Agriculture Officer of Pimpalgaon Baswant, Manoj Dilip Runte, explained that the app provides a variety of farming-related services on a single platform, facilitating farmers' access to timely and precise information.
“This app enables farmers to check current market prices for crops, identify suitable crops for specific districts, and gain insights into crop health and quality,” Runte stated.
He further mentioned that the application includes a fertilizer quantity calculator, allowing farmers to determine the appropriate amount of fertilizer needed based on their land size.
Runte added that farmers can also gather information regarding soil nutrients in their region, pre-sowing preparations, crop management techniques, and updates on changing weather conditions through the app.
“We are currently registering farmers via the MahaVISTAAR-AI app and educating them on how to utilize AI in agriculture. With this app, they can monitor market prices for their crops and learn about various government schemes available to them,” he emphasized.
Agricultural officials have urged farmers to download the MahaVISTAAR-AI app and register on the platform to take advantage of modern technology, expert advice, and government initiatives designed to enhance agricultural productivity and profits.
