Raisen, April 13 (NationPress) Senior BJP figure and Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari, is set to engage in the final day of the three-day agriculture-centric ‘Unnat Krishi Mahotsav 2026’ in Madhya Pradesh’s Raisen district today.

“The culmination of the three-day ‘Advanced Agriculture Festival 2026’ taking place in Raisen is happening today. This festival has paved the way for a new era in agriculture through modern farming techniques, cutting-edge technologies, and innovative practices,” stated Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who is overseeing the event, on X.

He added, “Today, Union Minister Gadkari will enhance this event and inspire the farmers with renewed energy. I encourage everyone to attend the fair's final day today and discover new strategies to elevate your farming to be more advanced, contemporary, and profitable.”

The festival, which commenced on April 11, was inaugurated in the company of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.

Throughout the last three days, the festival has acted as a vital hub connecting farmers with innovative agricultural methods, scientific practices, and market opportunities. Farmers from the region have engaged in exhibitions, training sessions, and live demonstrations aimed at boosting productivity and income.

A notable aspect of the event has been the initiative led by Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who introduced a special ‘Agricultural Roadmap’ for four districts of Madhya Pradesh — Raisen, Vidisha, Sehore, and Dewas. This roadmap has been formulated by scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).

Chouhan emphasized that the roadmap will assist farmers in adopting scientific methods for crop selection, taking into account soil quality, climate, and water availability. He highlighted that shifting from traditional practices to data-driven farming can lower costs and enhance yields.

“Our goal is to make agriculture more profitable and sustainable,” he stated, motivating farmers to pursue crop diversification and integrated farming. He also encouraged them to delve into allied sectors such as animal husbandry, horticulture, and beekeeping for additional income.

The roadmap pays special attention to water conservation and soil health enhancement, addressing the issues of declining groundwater levels and land degradation. Officials mentioned that this model could be broadened across the state following its initial rollout.

Additionally, during the event, a mobile application named ‘Soil’ was launched to aid farmers in accurately determining their fertilizer and manure needs based on soil conditions, thereby enhancing farming efficiency.

With Gadkari poised to attend the closing session and Rajnath Singh having inaugurated the event, it has garnered significant attention on a national scale.
