Bhopal, April 3 (NationPress) A momentous national-level Advanced Agriculture Festival (Unnat Krishi Mahotsav) is set to take place at the Dussehra Ground in Raisen from April 11 to 13, 2026, initiated by the Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
This three-day festival, termed by Chouhan as an “Agricultural Mahakumbh,” is designed to provide farmers with a comprehensive solution ranging from “Lab to Field” and “Seed to Market” all under one roof. Attendees can expect to witness modern agricultural technologies, training sessions, live demonstrations, and market linkages aimed at revolutionizing farming practices in the region.
The event will be inaugurated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav.
Additionally, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will grace the closing session on April 13, where a detailed agricultural roadmap for Raisen, Vidisha, Sehore, and neighboring areas with similar climatic conditions will be unveiled.
After thorough discussions with progressive farmers, local citizens, officials, and elected representatives, Shivraj Singh Chouhan remarked that this fair will be a transformative event for the farming community.
“A new era of farming practices will commence from Raisen. This is not merely a fair but a significant opportunity to alter the future of farmers,” he asserted.
The exhibition will showcase approximately 300 stalls featuring advanced seeds, drones, micro-irrigation systems, modern agricultural machinery, food processing, animal husbandry, fisheries, Farmer-Producer Organisations (FPOs), natural farming, and rural livelihood initiatives.
Prominent organizations, including ICAR, State Agricultural Universities, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, NAFED, as well as fertiliser and seed companies, MSMEs, and startups, will be in attendance.
Over the course of the three days, farmers will gain valuable insights through subject-specific seminars, practical training, and live demonstrations on precision farming, hydroponics, vertical farming, soil health management, integrated pest and nutrient management, post-harvest technology, and drone-based spraying.
Specialized sessions will focus on enhancing the productivity of pulses and oilseeds, crop insurance, and digital agriculture. Additional highlights will include a mobile soil testing laboratory, integrated farming system models, units dedicated to dairy, poultry, goat rearing, and fisheries, distribution of seed mini-kits, as well as on-the-spot grievance redressal and insurance facilities.
Chouhan reiterated that the event aims to provide practical knowledge and immediate benefits to farmers. “All pertinent information for farmers—spanning drones, micro-irrigation, modern machinery, and FPOs—will be accessible on a single platform,” he noted.
The fair is anticipated to attract thousands of farmers from Madhya Pradesh and adjacent states, equipping them with actionable insights to boost productivity, minimize costs, and improve market access. This initiative aligns with the Centre’s commitment to modernize, sustain, and center Indian agriculture around farmers.
