Key Takeaways
Bhopal, April 6 (NationPress) Farmers nationwide will have a chance to explore state-of-the-art technologies that promise faster, more cost-effective, and accurate farming all in one place. The National Advanced Agriculture Festival (Unnat Krishi Mahotsav 2026), hosted by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in partnership with the Madhya Pradesh government, is set to take place at Dussehra Ground in Raisen from April 11 to 13, 2026.
Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who is leading this initiative, stated that the three-day event will act as a national stage to showcase practical, field-ready solutions aimed at promoting climate-smart, profitable, and sustainable agriculture.
The festival will include live demonstrations, training sessions, exhibitions, and expert consultations, all geared toward realizing the vision of “Developed Farming – Prosperous Farmers,” as directed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Chouhan emphasized that the festival aims to equip farmers with hands-on knowledge about precision farming, water management, and climate resilience, enabling them to boost productivity while conserving vital resources.
The event is anticipated to attract thousands of farmers from Madhya Pradesh and adjoining states.
Notable dignitaries are expected to attend, including Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who will inaugurate the event, and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari is also expected to participate in the closing session.
A significant feature of the festival will be the Machinery Zone, where top companies will conduct live demonstrations of modern agricultural equipment.
Farmers will gain hands-on experience with tools such as reaper-binders, rotavators, corn pickers, tractors, balers, super seeders, sugarcane harvesters, rice transplanters, cotton pickers, power weeders, and boom sprayers. There will be a strong emphasis on operation, maintenance, cost-benefit analysis, and financing options.
In the drone and nano-fertiliser zone, visitors will observe live demonstrations of drone spraying for nano-fertilisers and pesticides.
Experts will illustrate how drones can facilitate uniform application across large areas, significantly reducing time, labour, and input costs.
Demonstrations will also cover crop monitoring, digital mapping, sensor-based advisories, and mobile app-driven smart farming solutions.
The micro-irrigation section will display drip and sprinkler systems, fertigation, solar pumps, and Drip for Rice and Wheat models from reputable companies.
The theme “More Crop Per Drop” will be highlighted to advocate for water conservation, reduced fertiliser usage, and enhanced yields, even under water-scarce conditions.
The horticulture and climate-smart agriculture zone will showcase polyhouses, shade nets, mobile cold storage, protected cultivation techniques, high-yielding seeds, and integrated farming system models developed by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
Special demonstrations will focus on stubble management using Happy Seeders and Super Seeders, along with street performances to convey the message of transforming agricultural waste into wealth.
