Bhopal/Raisen, April 11 (NationPress) Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan resonated deeply with attendees at the three-day ‘Advanced Agriculture Festival’ in Raisen, located 45 km from Bhopal. He emphasized that his goal transcends merely holding a position of authority; it is about genuinely enhancing the lives of farmers.

"My heart is filled with one aspiration—a dedicated commitment to establish a model for others to follow," he stated, vowing to transform the agricultural landscape of Raisen into a “national blueprint.” Chouhan underscored that without boosting farmers’ incomes, true development in India remains unachievable. "Farmers are akin to deities, and the people are Janardan. Serving them is the highest form of worship," he expressed to a massive crowd of farmers from Raisen, Vidisha, Sehore, and Dewas.

Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a comprehensive initiative for agricultural enhancement is in progress, aimed at achieving food security for 1.4 billion Indians through self-sufficiency in grains, fruits, and vegetables. He urged farmers to embrace integrated farming techniques, which combine crop cultivation with livestock rearing, beekeeping, and poultry farming, pointing out that a demonstration model at the festival could potentially yield over Rs 5 lakh annually.

Chouhan encouraged participation in 20 technical seminars covering topics such as horticulture, drone utilization, soil analysis, and market linkages, calling the festival a “unique educational platform” for reinventing agricultural practices.

Nearly 4,000 farmers signed up for training sessions conducted by scientists, bolstered by a newly launched mobile application that provides immediate soil and fertilizer recommendations.

He revealed that a detailed agricultural roadmap tailored to the local conditions of four districts would be presented on Sunday, with both the central and state governments committed to its execution.

"This is precisely why the ‘Advanced Agriculture Festival’ has been organized. I encourage you to engage wholeheartedly. Take the time to familiarize yourself with the various government schemes currently on offer," the Union Minister urged.

Chouhan reiterated that a comprehensive agricultural strategy for the four districts, crafted by scientists based on regional agro-climatic factors, would be unveiled on Sunday. He assured that both central and state authorities would collaborate sincerely to bring this plan to fruition. Initiatives include positioning the region as a horticulture center and reinforcing the pulse mission with guaranteed procurement at the minimum support price.

He implored farmers to fully commit to the event over the next three days, to learn innovative techniques, and collaboratively redefine the agricultural landscape in the region.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the festival, with Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav also in attendance.

Chouhan expressed gratitude to both leaders and called for a united resolution towards the advancement of farmers and the nation.

In closing, he made an emotional appeal: "Participate earnestly, learn new techniques, and help steer the evolution of agriculture. Together, let’s commit to the prosperity of farmers and the nation."
