New Delhi, April 11 (NationPress) Today marks a significant event as Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will officially open the prestigious Unnat Krishi Mahotsav at the Dussehra Ground in Raisen, Madhya Pradesh. This national-level Advanced Agriculture Festival will run from April 11 to April 13, 2026, under the guidance of Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Dubbed an “Agricultural Mahakumbh,” this three-day festival aims to offer farmers a holistic approach to agriculture, integrating “Lab to Field” and “Seed to Market” concepts. It will highlight modern agricultural technologies, training sessions, live demonstrations, and necessary market connections, all aimed at revolutionizing farming practices in the area.

The festival's inauguration will witness the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh alongside Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav.

On April 13, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will be part of the closing session, during which a detailed agricultural plan for Raisen, Vidisha, Sehore, and similar regions will be unveiled.

In prior discussions with progressive farmers, local residents, officials, and elected leaders, Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed optimism about the fair becoming a pivotal moment for the agricultural community. He remarked, “A wave of transformation in farming practices will begin from Raisen. This is not just a fair but a massive opportunity to change the destiny of farmers.”

The exhibition will feature approximately 300 stalls with offerings ranging from advanced seeds, drones, micro-irrigation systems, modern farm machinery, food processing methods, to animal husbandry and fisheries. Participation will include notable organizations such as ICAR, State Agricultural Universities, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, NAFED, and various MSMEs and startups.

During the event, farmers can take part in specialized seminars, hands-on training, and live demonstrations on crucial topics like precision farming, hydroponics, vertical farming, soil health management, integrated pest and nutrient management, post-harvest technology, and drone-assisted spraying.

Special focus sessions will enhance productivity in pulses and oilseeds, discuss crop insurance, and showcase digital agriculture innovations. Additional highlights include a mobile soil testing facility, integrated farming system models, dairy, poultry, goat-rearing and fisheries units, seed mini-kit distributions, and on-the-spot grievance resolution and insurance provisions.

Chouhan reiterated that this event will equip farmers with practical knowledge and immediate benefits. “All information relevant to farmers — including drones, micro-irrigation, modern machinery, and FPOs — will be available on a single platform,” he asserted.

The fair is anticipated to attract thousands of farmers from Madhya Pradesh and adjacent states, providing them with actionable insights aimed at enhancing productivity, minimizing costs, and improving market access. This initiative supports the Central government's goal of modernizing Indian agriculture to be more sustainable and farmer-centric.
