While addressing the Joint Session of Ethiopia's Parliament, PM Modi expressed, 'With the mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayaas', which translates to 'together for everyone's growth, trust, and efforts', our emotional connection with our motherland also reflects our common outlook.
He noted the inspiration derived from India's national song 'Vande Mataram' and Ethiopia's national anthem, both of which invoke 'Mother' to instill a sense of pride in our culture, heritage, and the beauty of our lands.
The Prime Minister remarked that scientific research has traced some of the earliest human footprints back to Ethiopia.
He stated, 'When we refer to Lucy of Dinkinesh', it is not merely about fossils but signifies a shared beginning – one that belongs to all of humanity, irrespective of whether we reside in Addis Ababa or Ayodhya. In India, we embrace the principle of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam', meaning 'The world is one family'. This philosophy reminds us that beyond politics, borders, and differences, we share a common origin. If our beginnings are intertwined, our destinies should be as well.'
