This marks the 29th global accolade for PM Modi.
“I am grateful to receive the Order of Oman (First Class). My heartfelt thanks to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Omani government, and its people for this recognition. This honor symbolizes the affection and trust between the citizens of India and Oman,” PM Modi expressed on X.
“For centuries, our forebears have been connected, engaging in maritime trade. The Arabian Sea has served as a vital link between our nations. I dedicate this award to the people of India and to our ancestors who established this enduring relationship by journeying from Mandvi to Muscat. This honor is also a tribute to the seafarers whose exchanges have fostered progress in both countries,” he further remarked.
According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the presentation of this honor during PM Modi’s visit to Oman coincided with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations, adding significant meaning to the event and the Strategic Partnership.
