Patna, Nov 20 (NationPress) As Nitish Kumar took the oath to assume the role of Chief Minister of Bihar, leaders from the NDA expressed their congratulations, declaring that “we are in the era of Modi–Yogi,” and asserting that this political phase will last for “at least 50 years.”

In an interview with IANS, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari remarked, “The Gandhi Maidan has seldom been this packed… The partnership of PM Modi and Nitish, along with Chirag Paswan, Upendra Kushwaha, and other leaders, is poised to elevate Bihar within the next five years, ensuring pride for every Bihari.”

Union MoS S.P. Singh Baghel stated, “I extend my congratulations to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the Deputy Chief Ministers, the entire cabinet, and all NDA ministers. The people of Bihar are known for their awareness. The state is recognized for significant revolutions.”

UP Minister Suresh Khanna noted, “The people of Bihar had already made their decision. Where good governance is guaranteed, that government will prevail. Remember this: It is the era of Modi–Yogi, and it will persist for at least 50 years.”

Bihar Minister Md Zama Khan expressed gratitude towards his leader and the NDA government for implementing numerous historic initiatives that have received public appreciation. “Our leaders are considerate of everyone,” he said.

Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal commented, “Today marks a significant moment for Bihar. The new government has taken shape under Nitish Kumar’s leadership, and the ministers have assumed their roles. I wish everyone the best. We aim for Bihar to progress swiftly towards development.”

BJP MP Janardan Singh Sigriwal said, “This day is monumental for the people of Bihar. It was special as PM Modi was present at the swearing-in ceremony. The people of Bihar have unwavering faith in PM Modi. The vision of a developed India will be realized.”

BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh remarked, “A joyous atmosphere prevails. People are celebrating and conveying their wishes. The aspirations of the Bihar populace have been met. Under the leadership of PM Modi and CM Nitish Kumar, the government has been established.”

BJP MLA Pradeep Singh said, “I congratulate the entire council of ministers. Today’s historic mandate signifies the dawn of a new Bihar, and the vision for a developed Bihar will soon come to fruition.”

Earlier that day, Nitish Kumar took the oath as Chief Minister for the 10th time, with 26 ministers sworn in from various NDA constituents — 14 from the BJP, eight from the JD(U), two from the LJP(RV), and one each from the RLM and HAM.

In the previous Cabinet, senior BJP figures Mangal Pandey and Nitish Mishra represented the Brahmin community. However, this time the BJP has reduced the Brahmin representation, keeping only Mangal Pandey. No Brahmin MLA from the JD(U) has been appointed, marking a significant change in the caste dynamic.

The BJP has placed considerable emphasis on the Rajput community, which has traditionally been one of its key support bases.

Four ministers — Sanjay Tiger, Shreyasi Singh, Leshi Singh, and Sanjay Singh — have been appointed from this caste group.

This represents a strategic move to solidify Rajput support in the state.

Two notable leaders — Vijay Kumar Sinha and Vijay Chaudhary — have been added from the Bhumihar community, which still carries significant political weight in Bihar.

Nitin Naveen, from the Kayastha community, has been included in the Cabinet. He is recognized as an important BJP representative, especially in Patna and other urban areas.

OBCs continue to represent the largest social group in Bihar politics, and the Cabinet reflects this demographic reality.

Samrat Choudhary (Kushwaha/Koeri) — Deputy Chief Minister, Deepak Prakash (Kushwaha), represents Upendra Kushwaha’s political heritage; Ram Kripal Yadav and Vijendra Prasad Yadav represent the Yadav community, traditionally associated with the RJD; Shravan Kumar (Kurmi), a close ally of Nitish Kumar and representative of the JD(U)’s core support base; and Pramod Kumar (Chandravanshi/OBC) — adding further OBC representation.

By including two Yadav ministers, the NDA aims to send a deliberate message to the community that it seeks broader social inclusion beyond its traditional voter base.

The NDA has ensured substantial representation for Extremely Backward Classes, which have been pivotal to its electoral success.

Included ministers are Surendra Mehta (Dhanuk), Rama Nishad (Nishad/Mallah), Madan Sahani (Mallah), Lakhendra Kumar Roshan (Paswan), Sunil Kumar (Ravidas), Santosh Kumar Suman (Manjhi community), and Sanjay Kumar (Paswan) in the cabinet of the Nitish Kumar administration.
