New Delhi, March 28 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday emphasized India’s increasing significance and its enhanced stature on the global stage, noting that world powers are closely monitoring the nation due to its impressive growth trajectory.
“Currently, the world's attention is focused on India. It is eagerly observing us to comprehend – what India is contemplating today,” PM Modi stated during a media summit.
Expounding on India’s extraordinary progress over the last decade, the Prime Minister noted that the nation has ascended to the fifth largest economy, climbing from the 11th position under the NDA government, and added that the world watches India with hope and enthusiasm.
“India First has become the guiding principle of our foreign policy,” asserted PM Modi.
He pointed out that while India previously maintained a stance of equal distance from all countries, the present strategy focuses on being equally close to all – termed an 'Equi-Closeness' policy. He emphasized that the global community now regards India's insights, innovations, and contributions more than ever before.
The Prime Minister underscored that India is not merely participating in the global order but is also actively involved in shaping and securing the future, recalling India’s crucial role in global security, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
He also highlighted India’s initiative of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) as a sustainable energy solution for even the smallest nations. He noted that this initiative positively impacts the climate and secures the energy requirements of countries in the Global South, with over 100 nations having joined.
Additionally, he discussed India's plans for the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), a project set to bring significant economic transformations and strengthen global supply chains.
The Prime Minister also remarked on the African Union becoming a permanent member during the G-20 Summit, stating that this was a progressive step towards making global systems more inclusive and democratic.
“Such initiatives have solidified India’s robust presence in the new world order. This is merely the beginning, as India's capabilities on global platforms continue to soar,” he concluded.
