Patna, Nov 8 (NationPress) Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan attributed the remarkable voter turnout of 64.66 percent in the initial phase of the Bihar Assembly elections to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's widespread appeal and dedicated work.
In a revealing interview with IANS, Pradhan stated, "The exceptional voter turnout in the first phase of the Bihar elections is a reflection of PM Modi's popularity and tireless work ethic. For two decades, the NDA government in Bihar has prioritized the interests of all communities in the state, gaining the public's trust. This turnout is a testament to that trust."
"Our connection with the voters stems from our campaign efforts, the work we've accomplished, and the credibility that the NDA has established in Bihar over the past 20 years. The citizens of this state have confidence in Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar," he added.
The impressive turnout at rallies led by PM Modi, Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, and the Chief Minister is further evidence of the faith that the public has in the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), he noted.
"I firmly believe we are on the path to a significant victory in Bihar," he expressed, predicting that the election results on November 14 will validate his optimism.
He expressed confidence that this election would witness unprecedented voter turnout across all districts in Bihar. The prevailing sentiment in every district is favorable towards the NDA. The populace recognizes that the NDA's involvement in the state is crucial; otherwise, the political landscape could become unstable.
"In the second phase, I anticipate that not a single district will see the NDA fail to secure a majority," he affirmed.
Criticizing the opposition, the Union Minister characterized RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav's election promises as a sign of "desperation" amid an "imminent defeat."
Dismissing the electoral commitments of competing parties, the Union Minister remarked, "Tejashwi Yadav's promises reflect his impending loss. This strategy will not succeed. I confidently assert that he will not fulfill his commitments in this election."
"Tejashwi Yadav lacks the conviction in his promises, as he is aware that they are unattainable," he stated.
The Union Minister pointed out that under the democratic framework of this nation, anyone can make claims; however, the people of Bihar will not be swayed by these promises. The public is well aware of the reality, he asserted.
When asked about the potential for the NDA to collaborate with Tej Pratap Yadav of the Janshakti Janata Dal in the future, he indicated that the "alliance is focused on Bihar's development, and the public has faith in us."
"Our priority remains the development of the state," he concluded.
