Bhopal, March 28 (NationPress) Chief Minister Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh is set to take part in the upcoming ‘Madhya Pradesh–Uttar Pradesh Cooperation Conference’ scheduled for March 31 in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
The purpose of this conference is to bolster collaboration in areas such as trade, investment, and skill development between these two neighboring states. It is anticipated that multiple agreements will be established between the governments of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh spanning various sectors, including trade, industrial investment, tourism, handicraft promotion, and skill enhancement.
This summit will particularly focus on connecting the One District-One Product (ODOP) initiatives, products that are GI-tagged, traditional crafts, and agri-food items with branding, marketing, and export prospects.
According to a press release from the state government on Saturday, “The MP-UP Cooperation Conference 2026 will showcase a robust framework for regional growth by attracting investments, generating jobs, and safeguarding cultural heritage through strong partnerships between Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
Moreover, the conference will engage in comprehensive discussions regarding the proposed development of the Kashi–Ujjain–Chitrakoot religious tourism circuit as a collaborative tourism initiative between the two BJP-governed states.
“This initiative will prioritize the establishment of a structured and coordinated tourism model, supported by the involvement of crucial stakeholders such as tour operators and IRCTC. The aim is to make religious tourism more organized, accessible, and appealing, which will likely increase both the number of tourists and their average length of stay in both states,” the statement noted.
During this event, artisans from the famous Chanderi and Maheshwar silk clusters in Madhya Pradesh will collaborate with Banarasi silk weavers to enhance joint branding, market outreach, and the concept of the ‘Ganga–Narmada Craft Corridor’.
Chief Minister Yadav plans to visit the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor to evaluate crowd management design, infrastructure, and systems for pilgrim management.
“This visit will go beyond a routine inspection. It will offer an invaluable opportunity to learn from successful models of contemporary urban planning and pilgrimage site management. Based on this experience, a pragmatic approach will be developed for enhancing religious sites, expanding amenities, and implementing systemic improvements in Madhya Pradesh,” the statement concluded.
