Bhopal, March 17 (NationPress) The Madhya Pradesh government has sanctioned financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the widow of Hiran Singh Parte, who tragically lost his life during a police encounter in Mandla district.

The authorities have asserted that he was a feared “Maoist”.

“Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has given the green light for the financial aid of Rs 10 lakh from the Chief Minister's Voluntary Grant Fund to Bisro Bai Parte, the spouse of the deceased Hiran Singh Parte, a resident of Mandla district,” an official announcement revealed on Monday.

This support, the statement detailed, has been authorized in relation to the death of Hiran Singh Parte, a local of village Khatia in Bichhiya tehsil of Mandla district on March 9.

The Collector of Mandla has also mandated a judicial inquiry into this occurrence.

The principal opposition party, Congress, staged a walkout in discontent over what they allege to be a contrived “Maoist” encounter in Mandla on March 9.

Congress representatives called for a comprehensive investigation into the matter, but their demands faced opposition. Amid chants regarding the alleged negligence, Congress legislators exited the Assembly on Monday.

Assembly member Omkar Singh Markam from Congress voiced his discontent, accusing the government of avoiding responsibility.

He criticized Assembly Speaker Narendra Tomar for dismissing their requests and characterized the BJP government's position as authoritarian. Congress members boycotted the Assembly sessions in protest.

One Maoist was reportedly killed during an operation executed by Hawk Forces and state police on Sunday (March 13) afternoon in the Kisli forest region of Mandla district, according to police.

The encounter commenced on Sunday afternoon at Chimta Forest Camp, positioned on the Mandla-Balaghat border. The operation, which extended into the evening, concluded with Hiran's death.

Officers had not revealed Hiran's identity initially, citing visibility issues, and the search mission by security forces continued into the night. The entire area has been sealed off due to the potential presence of additional Maoists.
