Bhopal, Oct 9 (NationPress) The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board (MPTB) is set to host a three-day Travel Mart event launching on October 11 at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre in Bhopal, according to government officials.
Sheo Shekhar Shukla, the Additional Chief Secretary (Tourism) and head of MPTB, mentioned that the event will attract over 700 participants, including more than 80 international tour operators from 27 countries.
This initiative aims to unite domestic and international buyers, sellers, travel agents, film representatives, and essential stakeholders from the tourism industry on a single platform.
"Travel Mart 2025 will highlight the state's rich tourism offerings — including heritage, wildlife, rural culture, handicrafts, cuisine, and film tourism — all under one roof," Shukla stated during a press briefing.
Shukla shared that there will be more than 120 stalls showcasing handloom and handicraft products, featuring live demonstrations of Gond Art and Chanderi saree weaving.
Exhibits from various tourism stakeholders will also be included, he confirmed.
The cultural segment promises to entertain with a 40-minute group dance performance choreographed by esteemed artist Maitreyee Pahari, celebrating the natural beauty and historical richness of Madhya Pradesh.
The famous Maihar Band, a symbol of the state's musical heritage, will perform alongside folk and tribal dances that reflect Madhya Pradesh's cultural diversity.
Traditional dishes and local folk culture will further enhance the event's atmosphere.
This gathering aims to connect the state's hoteliers, travel operators, homestay owners, and other tourism stakeholders (sellers) with prominent domestic and international buyers, including major hoteliers and tour operators.
Shukla emphasized, "This initiative will not only boost tourist influx into Madhya Pradesh but will also pave the way for economic growth in the tourism sector and create local job opportunities."
Additionally, international conferences and roundtable discussions with State governments (G2G) and wedding and corporate planners (G2B) will be organized to explore sectoral opportunities.
Senior officials from the Ministry of Tourism and various State Tourism departments are expected to participate.
The event will also facilitate investment promotion, new tourism project agreements, and collaborative announcements under the State Film Policy.
