New Delhi, May 16 (NationPress) Mustafizur Rahman, the talented left-arm fast-bowler from Bangladesh, has officially received the green light to join the Delhi Capitals (DC) for the remaining matches of the IPL 2025 season, following the issuance of a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Friday.
The BCB confirmed that Mustafizur will also be available to represent Bangladesh in their first T20I against the UAE in Sharjah on Saturday, before heading to India to compete in the IPL. The board stated, “As per the decision from BCB Cricket Operations, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to national team pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman for his participation in the ongoing IPL 2025 in India, covering the period from May 18 to May 24, 2025.”
DC will face the top-ranked Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium this Sunday evening. It remains uncertain whether Mustafizur will be included in the playing eleven right away. He was brought in as a replacement for Jake Fraser-McGurk, who will not return to India due to personal matters.
Mustafizur's initial move to DC faced some challenges as the BCB initially withheld the NOC. His arrival bolsters DC's fast-bowling options, especially with the absence of left-arm spearhead Mitchell Starc, as the fifth-ranked DC embarks on their quest to secure a spot in the IPL 2025 playoffs.
Previously, Mustafizur had played for DC in the 2022 and 2023 editions of the IPL. In 2022, he claimed eight wickets in as many matches with an economy rate of 7.62, while the following season saw him feature in only two games, taking just one wicket. Overall, Mustafizur has participated in 57 matches and has taken 61 wickets at an economy rate of 8.14.
