As per police reports, Prabhakar Singh was traversing the road when he was ambushed by two individuals on a motorcycle who had reportedly been lying in wait. Before he could react, the attackers opened fire, inflicting severe injuries that left him bleeding profusely.
Following the assault, the perpetrators fled the scene brandishing their weapons, causing panic among onlookers.
Local police were alerted and arrived promptly to transport the critically injured individual to a nearby medical facility.
Unfortunately, medical personnel pronounced him dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Muzaffarpur SSP Kantesh Kumar Mishra confirmed that the deceased was involved in the real estate sector.
He further mentioned that police teams have initiated a thorough investigation, with CCTV footage from adjacent areas being scrutinized to identify the culprits.
Initial investigations indicate the involvement of two suspects; however, the motive behind this heinous act remains unclear.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been established to delve deeper into the case.
“We have gathered some preliminary leads, and we expect to apprehend the suspects soon,” SSP Mishra stated, adding that more information will be disclosed as the inquiry progresses.
“We will provide additional statements only after we have interviewed the family members of the deceased,” he noted.
An FIR has been lodged under the applicable sections of the Bhartiya Nyay Sahita (BNS) Act at the Ahiyapur police station against two unidentified assailants.
According to local residents, the victim was also engaged in the sand and gravel business.
